Recipe: Bourbon Sour
If you are looking for a quick, easy, and delicious drink to serve over the holidays look no further than the Bourbon Sour.
This drink was originally suggested by my sister who had a whiskey sour with egg white. The idea baffled me a bit until I decided to give it a go. What turned out was a frothy delicious concoction.
Then the idea came of branding the drink a bit by adding our logo to the foam.
So adding some branding to this fabulous cocktail made it even better.
2 Ounces of Bourbon
1 Ounce of Lemon Juice
1 Ounce of Simple Syrup
1 Egg white
2 Dashes of aromatic bitters.
Combine bourbon, lemon juice, simple syrup and egg white in a cocktail shaker WITHOUT ice. Shake vigorously so that the egg white congeals a bit with the cocktail. Add ice to the shaker and shake again until cold.
Double strain, using a fine strainer into a chilled coupe.
The logo design was made using a stencil and an atomizer filled with bitters. The stencil is placed over the drink and the atomizer sprays the bitters into the drink in the shape of our logo.
This drink can be enjoyed year round. It is light and refreshing enough for summer time, yet it has the warming feel that only whiskey and a mustache provide.
